Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Support Specialist to join our team at the Missouri University of Science and Technology. As a key member of our Design & Construction Management department, you will be responsible for performing accounting and fiscal duties, maintaining records, preparing vouchers and expense reports, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capital Project Management: Maintain accurate records of capital projects, including payments to contractors and consultants, and ensure that all data is entered into project management software programs (eBuilder).
  • Grant and Construction Project Reconciliation: Review and monitor grant-funded construction projects for compliance with funding agency contract documents and reporting requirements.
  • Department Operations: Reconcile department operations accounts and provide reports to leadership for decision-making purposes.
  • Financial Analysis: Research and analyze complex data to prepare reports on budget, revenue, and other financial metrics.
  • Training and Development: Train other employees as needed to ensure process compliance and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Problem-Solving: Solve routine and complex problems, and identify opportunities for process improvements.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in accounting and fiscal support, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction accounting preferred.
