Position Overview

As an Early Childhood Educator, you will be responsible for executing a curriculum that is developmentally suitable for the designated age group. You will create and maintain a well-organized, responsive learning atmosphere while coordinating the efforts of teaching staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality educational programming.


Key Responsibilities

1. Observe, document, and evaluate each child's progress, designing activities that promote the enhancement of identified skills and abilities.
2. Serve as a positive role model, embodying program-wide values and initiatives through professional behavior.
3. Exhibit strong leadership skills to improve overall team performance and achieve program objectives.


Qualifications

Education:
• Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education (Required)
• Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education (Preferred)

Experience:
• Minimum of 1 year of experience demonstrating an understanding of Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) in all areas of work (Required)
• At least 2 years of experience in a center-based preschool or infant/toddler environment (Required)
• General knowledge of DPW regulations and PA Early Learning Standards (Required)
• Familiarity with Ages & Stages Questionnaires, Ounce Scale, and Work Sampling (Preferred)
• Understanding of Environmental Rating Scale (ERS) standards and NAEYC Standards (Preferred)

Licenses/Certifications:
• Pediatric First Aid CPR (Required) - to be obtained within 90 days of hire
• Completion of training in Center-based Care: Building Blocks for Quality, Pediatric First Aid CPR, and Mandated Reporter Training, with the latter to be renewed every 5 years. Fire Safety Training is required within one year of hire.
