Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of bulk and batch sterile products, including IV solutions
  • Provide drugs and supplies to nursing stations and other areas of the hospital
  • Produce accurate patient charges and maintain accurate records
  • Collaborate with pharmacy staff to ensure efficient and effective medication management
  • Perform aseptic technique and maintain a clean and safe work environment

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Current registration with the NM Board of Pharmacy required
  • Effective verbal and interpersonal skills required
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, basic math, and reading comprehension skills preferred
  • Hospital experience preferred

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and potential infectious materials
  • Occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals and allergenic drug products
  • Close quarters in a busy environment
  • Low risk for infectious disease

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to move throughout the hospital at a rapid pace for the entire shift
  • Sufficient hearing to answer telephones and eyesight to read requisitions
  • Hand-eye coordination to perform aseptic technique
  • Ability to raise a moderate load (less than 50 lbs.) using sound body mechanics alone or with assistance
