Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team in Chicago. The successful candidate will have a strong background in estimating ground-up municipal projects and a minimum of 5 years of experience with a commercial general contractor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather and post bid documents
  • Review bid documents to determine scope of work per trade
  • Contact potential subcontractors
  • Develop material and labor quantity takeoff for work performed
  • Prepare estimate summary for bids
  • Compile and analyze subcontractor and supplier proposals to determine best value
  • Develop preliminary project schedules
  • Review post-bid information to ensure scopes of work are correct and accurate
  • Assist project manager in preparing change order requests
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of estimating experience with a commercial general contractor
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project management
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software and tools
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates concurrently
