As a Perioperative Nurse, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care in the operating room, working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide perioperative patient care, including scrubbing and circulating on cases independently, with minimal direction.
- Prepare for surgical cases in an efficient manner, anticipating the needs of patients, surgeons, anesthesia, and other O.R. team members.
- Provide a safe environment for patients and staff by implementing standards of aseptic technique and controlling the physical and psychological aspects of the environment.
- Collect and analyze data, assess patients, and develop nursing diagnoses.
- Communicate effectively with patients, staff, physicians, and families.
- Maintain knowledge of equipment set-up and function.
- Initiate and direct room clean up and turnover.
- Possession of a current or compact state license as a Registered Nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa.
- Operating Room experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support certified within six (6) weeks of hire.
- Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
