Job Summary

This role represents Prisma Health and its workers by providing direct and indirect nursing care to client companies served by Occupational Health Services. As a key member of the medical team, you will work under policies, procedures, and medical directives approved by the Occupational Health Services Medical Director. You will be independent in the application of nursing knowledge and skills. This position is part of the medical team at a major industrial site in South Carolina. All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's values of compassion, dignity, excellence, integrity, and teamwork.

Accountabilities

  • Administers immunizations and other injections according to Occupational Health Services policies and procedures.
  • Triages injured/exposed employees, prepares for MD/NP evaluation, and provides case management.
  • Assists with clinical duties as assigned at various locations and provides backup nursing support for occupational health and prevention and wellness-related duties as needed.
  • Performs health assessments, documents, reviews findings, evaluates screening results, refers as indicated, and conducts appropriate follow-up.
  • Maintains inventory of appropriate supplies and education materials.
  • Participates in substance abuse testing programs by collecting and processing specimens.
  • Draws labs and performs audiograms, pulmonary function tests, vision screening, and related tests.
  • Maintains accurate and timely state and federal mandated records, including DHEC, OSHA, and JCAHO.
  • Supports clinic function by participating in and implementing policy development, operational improvement, and the implementation of policies and improvements.
  • Responds to client company employees' and supervisors' inquiries on employee health matters.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

This is a non-management role that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Minimum Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing program and approved by the South Carolina State Board of Nursing
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing - Preferred

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses

  • RN (South Carolina)
  • BLS

Knowledge, Skills or Abilities

  • Strong physical assessment background needed. Knowledge of Workers Comp and Occupational Health desirable
