Job Summary

As a Sanitation Worker, you will play a critical role in maintaining a high level of Food Safety and Product Quality through the cleaning and sanitation of food processing equipment, utensils, and facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain Cleaning and Sanitation Standards: Ensure that all areas of the facility, including processing equipment, utensils, and walls, are cleaned and sanitized in accordance with the company's Master Sanitation Program.
  • Utilize Sanitation Tools and Chemicals: Safely and effectively utilize sanitation tools and chemicals to clean and sanitize processing area walls, floor, and equipment.
  • Remove Debris and Maintain Facility Safety: Remove debris from processing areas and maintain a safe working environment by adhering to company and regulatory specifications.
  • Communicate Supply Levels and Record Observations: Communicate chemical supply levels to management and record facility conditions to ensure all areas meet company and regulatory specifications.
  • Verify Cleaning and Sanitation Efforts: Verify the adequacy of cleaning and sanitation performed on areas and equipment and complete and sign off on appropriate forms.
  • Document Actions and Maintain Equipment: Document actions taken in response to unsatisfactory observations on equipment, utensils, and/or process area conditions and maintain plant safety by ensuring proper use of equipment.
  • Work Independently and Provide Support: Work independently with minimal supervision and provide backup support for other duties as needed.
  • Obtain Certifications and Training: Become certified as an electric pallet jack and forklift operator and complete testing when applicable.
Physical Requirements
  • Lifting and Moving: Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50/100 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Sanitation Tools and Chemicals: Experience with the utilization of sanitation tools and chemicals, food safety, and the safe operation of forklifts and powered pallet jacks.
