Industrial Water Biological Process Engineer

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on industrial water and wastewater related design projects, using your expertise in biological process engineering to deliver sustainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Function as the process engineer on industrial water/wastewater projects, using processes such as physical/chemical primary treatment, conventional activated sludge, biological nutrient removal, fixed-film processes, membrane bioreactors (MBR), side stream treatment, tertiary filtration, and disinfection.
  • Receive technical guidance from a senior process engineer and delegate engineering or scientific calculations/drawings to junior staff.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design teams to implement complex treatment solutions.
  • Assist in developing and preparing process design drawings, specifications, calculations, plans, and other technical deliverables for a variety of industrial water projects.
  • Field work will be required, including surveys/data gathering, construction quality assurance, inspections, bench- and pilot-scale treatability testing, etc.
  • Assist with system commissioning and start-up, including training plant staff.
  • Prepare and make presentations to clients and for professional meetings.
  • Manage projects as necessary to meet both client and Arcadis' expectations.
  • Supporting business development including proposal preparation and meeting with clients.
Requirements:
  • Possess a good understanding of different types of industrial wastewater treatment systems.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint proficient.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Consulting engineering firm experience is a plus.
  • Effective collaboration and coordination within a multi-disciplinary project environment.
  • Provide mentorship to early career engineers.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in engineering or a related field of study with focus on biological wastewater treatment.
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressively increasing responsibility in the industrial water including familiarity with the following: biological wastewater treatment, facility master planning, data analysis, and treatability testing.

Arcadis offers a competitive salary range of $82,400 - $123,600.00 and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision, EAP, 401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program and optional benefits including wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year.
