About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Board-Certified Surgical Physician Assistant to join our team at Northern Dutchess Hospital. As a key member of our Surgical PA Service, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our surgical team.

Responsibilities
  • OR First Assisting: Provide first assist coverage in the OR for various surgical specialties, including general, plastic, spine, bariatric, and OB/GYN cases.
  • Rounding: Round on general surgery patients daily, working collaboratively with attendings, residents, and students to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Consults/Admissions: Cover admissions and consults for general surgeons, providing expert support and guidance.
  • Night Coverage: Provide on-call support from home, including first assisting emergent OR cases, admissions, and consults for general surgery.
  • Floor Procedures: Perform floor procedures, including NG tube insertion and removal, wound vac and dressing changes, and bedside I&D.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and NCCPA certification.
  • Strong surgical and patient management experience, with a minimum of one to three years of surgical experience preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and provide exceptional patient care.
