Position Overview:
Under the guidance of the Center Director and the Early Head Start Lead Teacher, the Early Childhood Education Support Specialist plays a crucial role in facilitating a high-quality educational experience for children and their families. This position requires adherence to the program's goals and objectives, ensuring compliance with YMCA standards, Bright from the Start licensing, and Quality Rated criteria. Engaging parents is essential for the program's success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Academic Instruction: Develop and implement lesson plans that align with early learning standards, covering essential areas such as Language/Literacy, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Creative Arts.
  • Healthy Living: Create a safe and nurturing environment that promotes children's health and well-being, ensuring proper supervision and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Assessments: Maintain accurate assessment records in accordance with GOLD guidelines, conducting evaluations and providing updates to parents during scheduled conferences.
  • Family Engagement: Foster strong relationships with families, encouraging their involvement in the educational process and community activities.
  • Professional Development: Continuously reflect on and improve personal performance, participating in training sessions and collaborating with colleagues to enhance program delivery.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare setting, with a preference for NAEYC or Quality Rated experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Employment Requirements:
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, including Criminal Record check and Drug Screening.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.
