Job Summary

We are actively searching for junior level Mechanical Engineers to join our team in Long Beach, Tampa, and Vancouver offices. As a Mechanical Engineer at Moffatt & Nichol, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing mechanical systems for waterfront facilities, including marinas, container terminals, marine oil terminals, and pump stations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform 3D modeling and analysis of mechanical systems
  • Prepare design documents (plans and specifications) with an emphasis on utility service design
  • Engineer and design mechanical portions of waterfront facilities
  • Conduct 3D model reviews, clash checks, and interdisciplinary reviews of developed drawing packages
  • Participate in and conduct quality control reviews of deliverables
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering design related to bulk material handling
  • Experience in design of bulk material handling projects
  • Acknowledgement in developing equipment specification, calculation, data sheets, drawings reviews, and other documents related to mechanical design
  • Design experience in industrial complex and/or marine terminals is a plus
  • General understanding of process design, process flow diagram development, and piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) development
  • Experience in piping design and other mechanical equipment; 3D design development experience a plus
What We Offer

We offer a competitive base salary range of $46.47 to $56.80 per hour, based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualifications in the job description. This salary range is only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the California market.

Working Conditions

Sedentary for prolonged periods of time, interact with clients, and travel occasionally.
