Job Title: Experienced RN

Cleveland Clinic's Akron General Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (NSICU) team.

About the Role:

As a Registered Nurse in our NSICU, you will provide high-quality patient care to critically ill patients with neurological conditions. You will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients with neurological conditions.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a given patient population.
  • Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition, and respond appropriately.
  • Develop and update goals, involve patients and families in developing plans of care, and coordinate the interdisciplinary plan of care.
  • Provide nursing care, administer treatments and medication, and document patient information.
  • Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes, contribute to the improvement of care, and participate in quality improvement processes.
  • Delegate tasks/assignments, serve as a resource person/role model/mentor, pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications, and maintain applicable certification/licensure.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Willing to obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and TNCC certification and complete CVVHD training within one year of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Physical Requirements:
  • Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
