Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Compass Community Living. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for the successful operation of the Culinary Department, assisting in the supervision, preparation, and cooking of various food items.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing cost controls and expenditures for the account.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to plan and create menus that meet the needs of our clients.
  • Produce and execute catering events that exceed client expectations.
  • Develop and implement new culinary programs in conjunction with our marketing and culinary teams.
Requirements
  • A.S. or equivalent experience in culinary arts or a related field.
  • Progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending on formal degree or training.
  • Catering experience is a plus.
  • High volume, complex foodservice operations experience is highly desirable.
  • Institutional and batch cooking experiences are helpful.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends, including quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Experience with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and the Internet.
  • Ability to participate in client satisfaction programs and activities.
  • ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
