Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Generis Tek Inc. as a Clinical Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality occupational therapy services to patients in an outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients' overall level of function, including prior functional ability, needs upon return home, upper and lower extremity function, sensation, sensorimotor functions as applicable, cognitive abilities of daily living, visual perceptual skills, homemaking skills, and transfer status.
  • Implement appropriate use of standardized tests and objective tests and measures.
  • Correlate assessment and test findings with appropriate interventions.
  • Notify physicians of changes in patient status.
  • Adjust visit frequencies to meet the needs of the patient.
  • Provide patients with appropriate therapeutic modalities and self-care training to improve functional ability.
  • Develop a plan of care that reflects achievable, measurable, and expected outcomes.
  • Function as a patient advocate while promoting independence in self-care.
  • Refer patients to other team members and/or community agencies as needed.
  • Adhere to Universal Precautions and Infection Control policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to technical/procedural skills.
  • Use appropriate body mechanics.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of occupational therapy, at the time of hire.
  • Washington State Licensure or the ability to obtain licensure in Washington state.
  • A current valid unrestricted driver's license at the time of hire.
  • Certified in AHA - BLS CPR within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Occupational therapy experience in an acute care hospital setting and outpatient setting.
  • Experience as a certified lymphedema therapist or ability to become certified.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

This position is primarily worked in a clinical environment. The position will require the ability to lift, and carry, up to 50 pounds and push or pull over 50 pounds. The position will require bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, reaching overhead, sitting, and standing frequently. Occasionally, the position requires climbing, kneeling, and crawling. The position requires continuous finger dexterity and fine manipulation. All basic life functions such as hearing, seeing, speaking, standing, and walking are required.

The employee must demonstrate the ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
