Ranch Associate

Perdue Farms is seeking a Ranch Associate to perform duties and tasks incidental to poultry barn cleanup and sanitation. The successful candidate will have the ability to understand and follow instructions and procedures, and must not have exposure to poultry or birds outside of work.
Responsibilities- Properly mix and administer vaccines to flocks in the field as prescribed by Grow Out management to maximize bird health and performance.
- Perform tasks such as field feed inventories, rodent bait station maintenance, temperature monitoring, and generator checks as prescribed by Grow Out management.
- Provide the Grow Out Manager with a weekly report on bird health and/or vaccination status.
- Communicate with Grow Out management daily regarding scheduling, vaccination, or producer issues.
- Pickup vaccines and supplies as needed for daily activities and coordinate vaccine inventory and usage with the Medication Department.
- High School or equivalent education.
- 0-3 years of work experience.
- Good oral and written communication, reading, math, and analytical skills.
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Background in statistics preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
The Ranch Associate will work in chicken houses, exposed to seasonal weather conditions outside and up to 95 degrees inside. They will be exposed to significant amounts of airborne dust, feathers, and chicken manure and associated odors.
BenefitsThis position has a base rate of $18.05 - $18.35 per hour, with opportunities for pay premiums, shift differentials, and overtime where applicable.
