Cage Attendant

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Cage Attendant to support our operations at Southwest Steel Processing. As a Cage Attendant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our tools and materials are readily available, organized, and in good condition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Label each received part with an SSP number for tracking purposes.
• Ensure timely and accurate placement of all received parts into designated storage locations.
• Maintain inventory levels by avoiding stockpiling and conducting regular inventory checks.
• Receive and process packing slips daily.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the cage area.
• Monitor and record items taken by employees from the cage.
• Perform miscellaneous inventory transactions in the Syteline system as needed.
• Prioritize and complete safety stock reports before generating purchase requisitions.
• Collaborate with the procurement specialist to ensure accurate and timely requisition entries.
• Assist VMI suppliers with goods verification processes. Ensure that safety gear is always available, properly issued, and returned.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Valid Driver's License
• Ability to stand, bend and walk for extended periods throughout the day
• Be able to lift or move at least 40lbs
