Department Head

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Department Manager to join our team at Runnings. As a Department Manager, you will be responsible for leading the merchandising and sales efforts within your assigned department, providing exceptional customer service, and working closely with the Store Manager to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Merchandising and Sales: Direct and coordinate the merchandising of assigned products, set priorities for distribution of new merchandise, and ensure adequate inventory in all areas of the assigned department.
• Customer Service: Assist customers with purchases, provide excellent customer service, and ensure that safety is practiced when handling merchandise by employees and customers.
• Team Management: Assist with the training and direction provided to new department team members, work closely with Retail Buyers to ensure awareness of assigned department product needs, and other product information.
• Store Operations: Ensure that all store operations are running smoothly, and that all equipment and tools are in good working condition.

Requirements:

• Education and Experience: High School Diploma preferred, customer service training and/or experience preferred.
• Physical Demands: Ability to work an irregular work schedule, frequent lifting up to 50 pounds, long periods of standing, frequent bending and twisting.
