Host/Hostess

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Host/Hostess at Cate Street Seafood Station. As a key member of our front-of-house team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring a seamless dining experience, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

• Guest Greeting and Seating: Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner, seat them promptly, and present menus in a timely and efficient manner.
• Menu Presentation and Information: Inform guests of daily specials, soups, and other relevant information to enhance their dining experience.
• Wait List Management: Manage the wait list effectively, ensuring that guests are informed of wait times and provided with accurate estimates of wait times.
• Table Management: Monitor table status, ensuring that tables are clean, dirty, and occupied, and that guests are seated in a timely manner.
• Phone and Guest Interaction: Answer phone calls and respond to guest inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
• Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized host area, including menus, utensils, and other equipment.
• Additional Duties: Perform other duties as directed by management, including filling to-go orders, maintaining restrooms, and sweeping the foyer and front entrance area.

• Customer Focus: Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that guests feel welcome and valued.
• Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with guests and team members.

• Multi-Tasking: Ability to multitask, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

This position requires frequent standing, reaching, bending, and stooping. The work environment is a casual dining restaurant with a moderate noise level. Hazards may include slipping and tripping.

• Standing: 100% of the time
• Reaching, Bending, and Stooping: 75% of the time
• Lifting: 20% of the time (up to 20 lbs)
• Verbal Communication: 50% of the time

This is a flexible position, typically working 15-30 hours a week. Frequent evening and weekend shifts are required.
