Taxation Specialist

The National Tax Office Financial Products Managing Director is a key role that specializes in the taxation of financial products. This position is responsible for advising CTS and STS office team members, as well as their clients, on the tax implications of their business objectives. The Managing Director will evaluate and select alternative actions to lessen tax burden and cost of compliance, and identify different methods of complying with tax regulations. This role requires a deep understanding of tax laws and regulations, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.

• Apply in-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations to provide technical guidance to CTS and STS office team members and clients.
• Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax burden and cost of compliance.
• Provide training and thought leadership to the firm on tax-related topics.
• Collaborate with other teams to identify and address tax-related issues.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.

• Seven or more years of relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, law firm, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience.
• Prior supervisory experience.
• Expertise in one or more tax specialty.
• CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (or the equivalent of one of these designations).

• Juris Doctor (JD) or Master's Degree in Taxation.
• Experience with tax research databases, including Tax Notes, CCH, or BNA.
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
