Senior Manager, UX Research and Design

Vibrant Emotional Health is seeking a highly motivated and experienced UX Research and Design Senior Manager to join our dynamic team.

This player-coach role involves both individual contribution (IC) and leadership responsibilities as the team is built out. The ideal candidate will have a background in managing / leading a team of designers and UX researchers, with hands-on experience in UXR/design across: both B2B and consumer products, web, data visualizations, and custom tools built on top of Salesforce.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, mentor, and help build a small but growing team of designers and UX researchers
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support professional development
  • Conduct and oversee UX research roadmap to gather insights and inform design decisions
  • Develop user personas, journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs as needed
  • Ensure designs align with business goals, user needs, and technical constraints
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, marketing, and other business functions, to define project requirements and scope
  • Coordinate with vendor-partners to ensure alignment and successful project execution
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the overall design strategy and vision
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in user experience and design processes
  • Advocate for user-centered design principles and best practices within the organization
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business objectives and user needs
  • Present design concepts and research findings to senior leadership and other stakeholders
Requirements:
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma
  • Experience with user research methods, including interviews, surveys, usability testing, and analytics
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and research findings clearly and persuasively
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related field, or 4 years in lieu
  • 6+ years of experience across both UX design and user research, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role
  • Proven track record of designing and delivering successful B2B and consumer products, web applications, and customer tools built on Salesforce
  • Experience working with in-house development and design teams, as well as vendor-partners
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in user research, interaction design, visual design, and usability testing
