Chemist II Job Description

Brice Engineering LLC is seeking a highly skilled Chemist II to join our team. As a Chemist II, you will play a crucial role in verifying and validating analytical data on environmental projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support environmental investigations and assessments in accordance with state and federal regulatory guidelines.
  • Provide data review and validation according to EPA, ADEC, and DoD specifications.
  • Adhere to schedule and financial objectives, controlling time and expenditures to achieve project goals.
  • Work with technical staff in support of project objectives and field operations.
  • Provide scientific and technical guidance, support, and coordination to project staff preparing written project documentation.
  • Evaluate and select data collection methods and procedures to be employed in site surveys and investigations.
  • Actively participate in creating a positive team environment.
  • Support project planning and proposal responses.
  • Support technical review of chemistry documents.
  • Support junior chemist staff.
  • Multi-task to manage time.
  • Manage company resources to ensure proper deliverables.
  • Actively participate in a proactive safety culture.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as directed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Environmental Studies, or other related discipline.
  • Five to ten years of experience providing analytical review/validation and support on environmental projects.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations/guidance for Alaska; knowledge of other states and territories is preferred.
  • Knowledge of SW-846 methodology and sample handling requirements.
  • Valid state driver's license and qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Brice Engineering's Driving Policy.
  • Ability to pass drug and background screening.
