The Terre Haute Regional Hospital Nurse Resident Program is a comprehensive training program designed to support the transition of new graduate nurses into the clinical setting. This program provides a structured learning environment, hands-on experience, and mentorship from experienced nurse leaders.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in a formalized series of learning experiences, including advanced clinical training, monthly educational sessions, and preceptorship training.
- Develop and demonstrate clinical and critical thinking skills through hands-on simulations and real-world patient care experiences.
- Collaborate with medical providers and other members of the care team to provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care to patients.
- Assess patient condition, identify and report changes in patient status, and perform procedures as ordered by medical providers.
- Document patient care in a timely and thorough manner, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year of employment.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing, and Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
- No previous experience required, but some travel may be necessary for training.
