Position Summary

The Ag Banker is responsible for all aspects of originating, underwriting, and finalizing both secured and unsecured commercial loans, adhering to established lending standards, policies, and procedures. This role focuses on building, nurturing, and optimizing relationships with both current and prospective clients, while effectively growing loans, deposits, and fee income. It is essential to ensure compliance with credit quality standards.

  1. Manage a portfolio of existing clients, enhancing relationships based on their financial needs. Collect and oversee the necessary documentation for loan applications, collaborating with Credit Administration to obtain appraisals, credit reports, background checks, and other relevant information for loan evaluation. Communicate with applicants or creditors to clarify inquiries and negotiate terms.
  2. Identify and cultivate new business opportunities.
  3. Enhance customer relationships by cross-selling essential deposit and fee income products/services as dictated by client needs.
  4. Facilitate negotiations with both new and existing clients in accordance with established guidelines, including fees, repayment options, and other credit terms. Present loan proposals to the loan committee for approval beyond individual authority limits. Ensure loan agreements are thorough and compliant with policy, and oversee timely loan closing and funding processes. Maintain accurate loan documentation and records.
  5. Engage actively in community initiatives that promote the Bank and support business development efforts.
