Culinary Supervisor Job Description

Campus Auxiliary Services at SUNY Geneseo is seeking a highly skilled Culinary Supervisor to join our team. As a Culinary Supervisor, you will be responsible for the daily operation of the kitchen, including menu planning, recipe testing, event staffing, and training of back-of-house staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and direct staff, coordinating workflow and ensuring effective scheduling.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by maintaining sanitation and quality standards.
  • Oversee food receiving, preparation, and storage areas to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Assist with event planning and execution, including staffing and logistics.
  • Develop and implement product promotions to drive customer interest.
  • Evaluate and improve processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • One year of culinary experience; supervisory experience a plus.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
