Job Description

As a Diesel Fleet Mechanic at US Foods, Inc., you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing diesel equipment, including tractors and trailers. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with diesel equipment to ensure prompt and effective repairs.
  • Performing preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns and extend the lifespan of equipment.
  • Completing accurate documentation of repair orders and parts accountability.
  • Handling road service calls and performing road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic.
  • Demonstrated diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs.
  • Succesfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience in administering an appropriate PM program.
  • A willingness to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
