Job Opportunity

Blazer Jobs is seeking an experienced educator to fill a full-time position as a Special Education Teacher within school districts in the Hamtramck, MI area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of students with special requirements.
  • Modify and adapt the general education curriculum to ensure inclusivity and accessibility for students with diverse needs.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and school staff to support student progress and achievement.
  • Provide direct instruction to students in both small group and one-on-one settings, catering to their individual learning styles.
  • Assess students' academic and behavioral progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed to optimize their learning experience.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and IEP compliance, ensuring seamless communication with stakeholders.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices and industry developments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid Michigan teaching license with a Special Education endorsement.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities, particularly in a school setting.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of current special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
