Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Warehouse Loader to join our team at Ocean State Job Lot. As a key member of our distribution center, you will be responsible for loading and unloading freight in a safe and efficient manner, while maintaining a high level of productivity and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load and unload freight in priority order, verifying trailer numbers and dock doors before loading
  • Sort and stack pallets and bales, ensuring accurate and safe consolidation of merchandise
  • Operate and inspect technology, including walkie talkies, forklifts, and powered or manual pallet jacks
  • Complete accurate RF scanning process and properly seal and record trailers
  • Inspect and sign out equipment on a daily basis, maintaining a neat and orderly work area
  • Haul Return To Warehouse (RTWs), damages, and recalls to designated areas
  • Maintain compliance with standard operating procedures and OSHA standards
Requirements
  • Successful completion of the Powered Equipment Training Program and attainment of license
  • Ability to pass a math test and possess English speaking, reading, and comprehension skills
  • Ability to learn to use a RF scanner and a wrapping machine, as well as operate powered industrial equipment
  • Ability to meet area productivity, quality, safety, housekeeping, and attendance standards
Work Environment

The DC warehouse environment is characterized by temperature extremes, noise, movement of conveyors and equipment, and other conditions associated with the operation of a high volume distribution center. The successful candidate will be able to lift and move 50 lbs of material on a regular basis, bend, lift, stretch, and reach both below the waist and above the head, and remain stationary and/or continually move for up to 10 - 12 hours per day.
