Correctional Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the Graceville Correctional medical facility. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to inmates, working closely with physicians to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:- Attend sick call with physicians to assess and treat inmates
- Prepare examining rooms and equipment for medical procedures
- Administer medication and document treatment as required
- Examine and assess inmates with illnesses or injuries, referring them to the emergency room as necessary
- Practice cost containment and utilization management for inmate care and facility operations
- Maintain confidentiality of medical records and observe HIPAA rules
- Accurately and promptly chart medical care and review medical files
- Monitor potential catastrophic illnesses and comply with pharmacy laws
- Inspect medical units for contraband and securely store or dispose of supplies and equipment
- Perform work on an on-call basis, as required
- Degree in nursing
- Current, valid nursing license for the state of Florida
- CPR certification
- Valid driver's license in the state of Florida with an acceptable driving record
