Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Admitting Clerk to join our team at Good Samaritan Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting demographics and insurance information from patients, activating patient encounters for medical treatment, and utilizing various systems to assess and resolve registration and insurance matters.

Responsibilities
  • Interview patients and/or their representatives to gather necessary information for registration and insurance purposes.
  • Enter accurate and complete patient demographic and medical insurance information into our systems.
  • Notify insurance companies of patient admissions to ensure coverage and expedite payments.
  • Review registration data for accuracy and quality assurance.
  • Handle the printing and distribution of admission/registration forms, face sheets, labels, and other required documents.
  • Obtain witnessing signatures for insurance assignments and guarantor statements.
  • Make changes to patient information as needed in a timely manner.
  • Collect and process payments for services rendered.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of healthcare experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical field and medical insurance experience preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
