Palo Alto Networks is at the forefront of cybersecurity innovation, and we're seeking a talented Principal Software Engineer - Cloud Service AI Infrastructure to join our team.

\

This role is central to our mission, focusing on the development and optimization of backend services with a keen eye for scalability, reliability, and performance.

\

We're looking for an exceptional individual with a deep understanding of cloud computing, particularly within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and a proactive approach to exploring new AI infrastructures to elevate our backend service capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • \
  • Collaborate with product managers, cybersecurity researchers, AI application researchers, and infrastructure software engineers.\
  • Explore and integrate new AI technologies and infrastructures to advance our model serving capabilities.\
  • Lead the design and implementation of standard workflows for performance monitoring and testing.\
  • Work with PLM on new feature requirements.\
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address complex technical challenges and drive innovation.\
  • Ensure the adoption of best practices in code quality, scalability, and system design among team members.\
  • Evaluate and improve existing systems for better performance, reliability, and efficiency.\
  • Design and implement large-scale distributed systems and web services in the cloud.\
  • Develop expertise in GCP managed services, Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, and other relevant technologies.\
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in AI infrastructure and model serving frameworks.\
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration and communication.\
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.\
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.\
  • Contribute to the development of technical documentation and knowledge base.\
  • Attend meetings and workshops to stay informed about company goals, strategies, and initiatives.\
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and customers to achieve project goals.\
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required.\
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.\
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on cloud computing, AI infrastructure, and distributed systems.\
  • Strong proficiency in GoLang, Python, or other relevant programming languages.\
  • Solid knowledge of Linux, Kubernetes, Docker, and other relevant technologies.\
  • Expert knowledge in GCP and its suite of managed services.\
  • Solid understanding of system design, scalability, optimization, and performance metrics.\
  • Experience with AI infrastructure and model serving frameworks on CPU/GPU.\
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.\
  • Exceptional communication and teamwork skills.\
  • Able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines.\
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and version control systems like Git.\
  • Able to travel occasionally for training, meetings, and client visits.\
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a global team.\
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.\
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.\
  • Able to meet productivity and performance expectations.\
  • Able to provide and receive constructive feedback.\

Salary Range

\

The salary range for this position is $147,000 - $237,500 per year, depending on qualifications, experience, and location. This includes a base salary plus additional compensation for performance and achievements.
