About the Role

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a skilled Surgical Technician to join our General Surgery OR team. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, working closely with our experienced surgical team to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up sterile tables, ensuring all necessary supplies, equipment, and medications are available.
  • Participate in sponge and instrument counts during surgical procedures.
  • Assist in draping patients and gowning surgical team members.
  • Maintain aseptic conditions throughout procedures.
  • Provide patient safety by actively participating in intraoperative timeouts.
  • Utilize safety measures such as safety belts, positioning devices, and alarms.
  • Collect, identify, and label specimens removed during procedures, and deliver them to the circulator for disposition.
Requirements
  • Completion of a Surgical Technology Program accredited through CAAHEP or ABHES, or completion of a military surgical technology program.
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST or TS-C) is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
