Your Role:

We invite you to apply for the position of Advanced Wound Care Specialist, working closely with our interdisciplinary team to improve wound healing and enhance the comfort and quality of life for our residents. Your expertise and dedication will make a real difference in people's lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight and expertise of wound care and prevention programs for residents and staff.
  • Conduct comprehensive wound assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients exhibiting skin complications.
  • Provide direct wound care interventions, including dressing changes, debridement, and wound irrigation.
  • Review, update, and direct the implementation of wound care & prevention policies and procedures.
  • Monitor wound healing progress and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment modalities.
  • Educate residents, families, and staff on wound care protocols and prevention strategies.
  • Collaborate with physicians, wound care specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of wound assessments, interventions, and outcomes for regulatory compliance and reimbursement.

What You'll Bring:

  • RN license in the state of New York for the full-time role and an RN or LPN license in the state of New York for the weekend role.
  • Degree in nursing, epidemiology, biology, microbiology preferred.
  • 2+ years in wound care management, preferably in a Long-Term Care setting.
  • Familiar with research-backed wound care and cleansing products.
  • Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) Certification preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Compassion and empathy in caring for residents with complex wound care needs.
  • Interest in the nursing needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Salary:

The estimated salary for this position is up to $51.14 per hour. Compensation and benefits package also available.
