Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist II to join our team at MyMichigan Health. As a Surgical Technologist II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and other medical staff during surgical procedures, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available and in working condition.
  • Verify and assemble sterile instruments and equipment, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Monitor and maintain the sterile field, recognizing and addressing any breaks in technique or contamination.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and efficient workflow.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities and contribute to the development of new procedures and protocols.
Requirements
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification or equivalent experience.
  • Associate's degree in Surgical Technology or related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, with a focus on patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Physical stamina to perform duties in a standing position for extended periods, with occasional lifting and bending.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, trauma, grief, and death. The ability to wear personal protective equipment, including latex materials or appropriate substitutes, is also required.
