We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Activities Director to join our team at Addison Pointe Health and Rehabilitation Center. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and implementing resident activity programs that promote engagement, socialization, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement activity programs that cater to diverse resident backgrounds, interests, and abilities.
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of residents to identify their activity needs and preferences.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized plans of care for residents.
- Document activity plans, progress notes, and maintain accurate records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure timely and appropriate activity programs for residents requiring one-on-one intervention.
- Engage residents, their families, and the community in facility activities to promote quality programs.
- Develop and maintain a facility newsletter to keep residents and families informed about upcoming events and activities.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Knowledge of personal computers, email accounts, and software programs such as Word and Excel.
- Thorough understanding of best practices in activities and recreation.
- Patience, cheerful disposition, enthusiasm, and ability to work with residents of varying maturity and physical levels.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Graduate of a state-approved Activity Director course preferred, but not required.
- At least two years of experience working in long-term care preferred, but not required.
