Job Title: Substance Abuse Specialist ACTT

Job Summary:

The Substance Abuse Specialist ACTT is a critical role within our organization, responsible for providing comprehensive care to individuals struggling with substance abuse. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with clients, healthcare professionals, and community resources to promote harm reduction, abstinence, and recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough substance abuse assessments, considering the intricate relationship between substance use and mental health.
  • Track and assess beneficiaries' stages of change readiness and treatment progress.
  • Utilize outreach and motivational interviewing techniques to engage beneficiaries in earlier stages of change readiness.
  • Facilitate access to 12-step groups and other community support networks.
  • Employ cognitive behavioral approaches and relapse prevention strategies to support beneficiaries in later stages of change readiness.
  • Ensure that fellow service providers' treatment approaches align with beneficiaries' stages of change readiness.
  • Lead the Person-Centered Planning process for assigned beneficiaries.
  • Facilitate group sessions and take a lead role in placement in short/long-term treatment as needed, and detox services.
  • Participate in a first responder on-call system, available 24/7/365, to coordinate resources and support for beneficiaries and their natural support networks.
  • Represent Southeastern Integrated Care LLC in a positive and professional manner, reflecting our organization's mission and values.
  • Ensure confidentiality and maintain individual rights to privacy and protected health information for beneficiaries.
  • Assist the Team Lead with service, agency, LME/MCO, state, and federal documentation requirements and timelines.
  • Complete Intake Packets for referrals received by the office.
  • Accurately document all billable encounters into our EMR system within 24 hours, with any corrections entered within 24 hours of notification.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum High School Diploma
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of the population served
  • CCS, CSI, LCAS, LCAS-A, or CADC certification (full certification required)
  • Valid NC driver's license and personal vehicle insurance coverage

Work Environment:

The work environment for this role may involve exposure to cigarette smoke, domestic animals/pets, household pests, and other issues related to the domestic location where service is delivered.

Physical Demands:

This role requires regular standing, walking, using hands to handle objects, tools, or controls, talking, and hearing. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to drive and operate a personal vehicle safely and adhere to all applicable state and traffic laws.
