Job Summary

The Float Teacher role is a critical position at the Boston University Children's Center, responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of children in each classroom. This role supports the mission and philosophy of the Center, providing a nurturing environment that meets the cognitive, emotional, social, and physical needs of young children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Lead Teachers to ensure a safe and engaging environment for children
  • Support the development of family relationships and communicate effectively with parents
  • Participate in continuous professional development to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
  • Abide by Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) licensing standards and Center policies
Requirements
  • Teacher certification by the MA Department of Early Education and Care (EEC)
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in child development, early childhood education, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an early childhood education setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively with others
