$100,000 to $120,000 based on experience and education.
This role is accountable for the formulation, organization, administration, and upkeep of the environmental initiatives within the operation, aiming for complete adherence to environmental standards.
The program will involve collaboration with operational teams and personnel to guarantee environmental compliance.This position will also ensure that all necessary documentation is submitted and preserved as mandated by federal, state, and local regulations concerning environmental matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the company's liaison with governmental bodies on environmental matters impacting the organization.
Stay informed about all EPA and environmental regulations. Ensure that the facility is prepared for any regulatory changes. Keep management informed of all significant regulations.
Comprehend and ensure facility environmental compliance, particularly with PCNESHAP regulations.
Accurately and promptly submit all reports required by regulatory bodies in a professional manner.
Address all environmental inquiries or complaints from employees and/or the community.
Maintain precise and compliant environmental records, ensuring that required information is readily accessible during inspections or audits.
Develop all regulatory environmental permit applications and manage existing active permits.
Collaborate with the electrical and mechanical maintenance teams to uphold compliance with emissions monitoring equipment.
Possess in-depth knowledge of the facility's environmental monitoring systems, ensuring data accuracy and functionality.
Educate plant personnel on environmental topics and compliance thresholds, incorporating environmental compliance reviews into daily production meetings.
Maintain an environmental compliance calendar focusing on PC NESHAP/NSPS requirements, permit deadlines, equipment testing, reporting timelines, etc.
Oversee plant waste management to ensure environmental compliance.Actively engage in quarry mining planning and operations to guarantee environmental adherence.
Assist in budget management, forecasting, and administration.
Oversee all environmental projects as necessary, including capital project requests and tracking approved projects.
Engage and manage environmental consultants and contractors as needed to ensure compliance and stay updated on regulatory changes.
Additional Duties:
Collaborate daily with the Safety Manager to provide support and insight into plant safety matters.
Keep the Safety Manager informed of critical environmental issues to ensure mutual support in emergencies.
Involve the Regulatory Assistant in environmental functions as necessary to support the Environmental Manager's responsibilities.Perform other job-related tasks as directed by the Plant Manager.
Qualifications:
A degree in an environmental-related field or equivalent plant experience demonstrating aptitude in engineering principles, organization, and skills.
Essential Computer Skills:
Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required. Familiarity with databases is advantageous.
Strong mathematical skills are necessary, with a solid understanding of variables in environmental calculations, particularly regarding compliance limits.
Preferred 5 years of experience in the cement or related manufacturing industry.
