Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and obtain detailed health histories from patients.
- Perform age-appropriate assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, tailoring approaches to meet the specific needs of each patient.
- Prescribe medications and recommend both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
- Implement care strategies to help patients achieve or maintain physiological stability.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and standards.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Facilitate smooth transitions for patients between various healthcare settings.
- Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
- Provide educational resources to support patient and family decision-making.
- Act as a mentor and role model for nursing staff.
- Standardize advanced practice processes across patient care services.
- Stay informed about current healthcare trends and technological advancements.

Department-Specific Duties:
- Provide coverage for chemotherapy treatment units, including on-call responsibilities.
- Educate patients about their treatment plans and ongoing care.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers in managing patient care.
- Document all patient interactions and treatment plans accurately.
- Respond to medical emergencies as needed.
- Facilitate referrals to appropriate specialists and support services.
- Mentor nursing staff and students in clinical settings.
- Engage in quality improvement and research projects related to oncology care.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Nursing or related field.
- Current APRN or Physician Assistant license.
- Certification from a nationally recognized board.
- Minimum of two years of experience in advanced practice nursing, preferably in oncology.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
