Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is currently seeking a skilled Mobile Diesel Technician II to join our team.

This role will involve performing licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile field environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing various systems, including electrical, brake, and cooling systems, as well as performing minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment.

Additionally, the Mobile Diesel Technician II will be required to inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles
  • Performing minor adjustments and repairs on various types of truck equipment
  • Diagnosing and repairing various systems, including electrical, brake, and cooling systems
  • Inspecting, testing, and listening to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Valid DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one prior to employment or within 72 hours of hire
  • Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties
  • Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months

Preferred Certifications:

  • ASE T3 (Drivetrain) certification
  • ASE T4 (Brakes) certification
  • ASE T5 (Suspension) certification
  • ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems) certification
  • ASE T7 (HVAC) certification
