Position ResponsibilitiesWe are in search of skilled and professional CDL B drivers who share our dedication to our people, partners, and the planet. You will travel to designated locations on your assigned route, responsible for packing, transporting, and disposing of waste materials in alignment with our environmentally responsible policies and procedures. This role may require occasional overnight stays (with covered hotel expenses and a nightly per diem).
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate on-site at various retail locations, adhering to all applicable federal and state laws, as well as DOT, EPA, and DEA regulations: 1) Identify, segregate, package, and document various types of retail hazardous waste and 2) Identify, segregate, package, and document various types of pharmaceutical waste. Prepare all necessary documentation to comply with State, EPA, and DOT regulations.
- Travel between customer retail facilities within your assigned territory.
- Manage services related to hazardous and pharmaceutical waste, ensuring proper characterization and segregation.
- Accurately process lab packs and prepare manifests and LDRs for hazardous waste shipments in accordance with regulations.
- Maintain and manage your own expenses and travel schedule to ensure timely service to customers, adhering to compliance with transfer schedules.
- Provide training and support to customers regarding processes, findings, and regulatory compliance.
- Deliver written and verbal reports to customers and supervisors.
Basic Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- CDL Class B license is required.
- Ability to operate a powered industrial forklift truck and possess a valid driver's license with no moving violations or accidents.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hazmat endorsement for waste transportation (candidates will be expected to obtain this endorsement post-hire).
- Three or more years of relevant warehouse experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with facility permitting, DOT packaging requirements, and OSHA regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Understanding of waste routing and disposal of hazardous materials.
