Position Summary: The Facility Operations Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the Operations Manager in executing safety protocols, operational standards, and maintenance strategies to ensure the integrity of the property’s physical assets. This position involves collaboration with external vendors to guarantee optimal performance of the Central Plant and adherence to maintenance agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain various building systems to ensure efficient operation.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and minor repairs on property systems, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of the property through various custodial and maintenance tasks.
- Assist in inventory management and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and safety data.
- Support event setups and the installation/removal of property decorations.
- Engage in snow removal and other seasonal maintenance as required.
- Adhere to Brookfield Properties' Safety, Health, and Environment Policy, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge necessary for safe operations.
- Contribute to emergency planning and response efforts in coordination with management.
- Provide assistance and interact positively with tenants and the public as needed.
- Assist in developing and maintaining a comprehensive maintenance program for the Central Plant and related systems.
- Supervise the upkeep of mechanical and HVAC equipment, assisting in budgeting for replacements as necessary.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year technical school graduate or trade certificate preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of building maintenance experience, with at least 5 years in HVAC and facilities management.
- Proficient in the use of general tools and equipment related to HVAC maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication abilities and a self-starter attitude.
- Valid Driver's License required; bilingual candidates are welcomed.
