Job Summary

The Grounds Maintenance Worker is a key team member at Hilltop Ski Area, responsible for maintaining a functional and pleasant outdoor and indoor environment. This position involves a range of tasks, including parking lot management, snow removal, and landscaping.

Key Responsibilities
  • Parking Lot Management: Assist guests and employees in parking uniformly and efficiently, ensuring maximum capacity on busy days.
  • Snow Removal and Ice Melt Application: Assist in snow removal around the lodge and walkways, and apply ice melt to sidewalks and walkways to ensure safe passage.
  • Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance: Assist in mowing around the lodge and adjoining grounds, and perform landscaping tasks along roads and around Hilltop buildings.
  • Carpentry and Special Projects: Assist in carpentry projects and complete assigned special projects as directed by the Mt Manager.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Inspect and ensure landscape equipment are in safe operating conditions, and perform preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Manual Labor and Cleaning: Perform manual labor tasks, including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials, supplies, and equipment, and ensure facilities, vehicles, and equipment are clean and organized.
  • Guest Service and Communication: Answer guest questions with patience and pleasantness, and communicate with supervisor and co-workers via radios.
  • Teamwork and Safety: Work well with all other departments, be respectful of all guests and employees, and promote a culture of exceptional guest service, teamwork, innovation, and fun.
Requirements
  • Age and Background Check: Must be 18 years of age or older and pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Reliable Transportation and Clean Driving Record: Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
  • Physical Demands and Abilities: Able to work up to 40 hours per week, including holidays, weekends, and evenings, as necessary, and possess the ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time in all weather conditions.
  • Communication and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong communication skills, good judgment, and the ability to react quickly under pressure.
  • Equipment Operation and Safety: Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely, and understand, follow, transmit written and oral instructions.
