Job Title: Nursing and Health Sciences Librarian

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nursing and Health Sciences Librarian to join our team at the University of San Diego. As a key member of our library staff, you will be responsible for providing expert research support and information services to students, faculty, and staff in the Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the research needs and interests of the Hahn School community
  • Provide in-depth research consultations, instruction, and training to students and faculty on topics related to nursing and health sciences
  • Collaborate with faculty to design and deliver information literacy sessions and workshops
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and developments in nursing and health sciences research and scholarship
  • Develop and maintain a robust collection of nursing and health sciences resources, including books, journals, and databases
  • Participate in library-wide initiatives and committees to promote the library's services and resources
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Library Science (MLS) or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a nursing librarian or health sciences librarian in an academic library setting
  • Strong understanding of nursing and health sciences research methods and literature
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree in a field related to nursing or health sciences
  • Experience working with digital scholarship and emerging technologies
  • Strong teaching and presentation skills
