Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Clinician to join our team at Kansas Employer. The successful candidate will provide direct patient care and education to clients of our Family Planning, Sexually Transmitted Infection, Early Detection Works and Refugee Health Programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct patient assessments and clinical care, including contraceptive administration and STI testing
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to triage patients for advanced practice providers when appropriate
  • Order screening and/or diagnostic tests based on advanced practice provider orders or clinic protocols
  • Administer, dispense and document appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment plan per protocol or provider orders
  • Provide comprehensive sexual health education to patients, including safe sex practices, contraception options, and STI prevention
  • Ensure patient understands the need for follow-up care
  • Ensure that procedure instruments are sterilized and autoclaved right after each use
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • Valid, unencumbered, and unrestricted State of Kansas Registered Nursing License (RN)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers/AED certification and required trainings to maintain licensure and/or certification
  • Completion of Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) IS 100, 200, and 700 courses within 30 days of employment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing from an accredited college or university
  • 1 year work experience in a public health department or medical related field
