About the Position:

As a Health Technician with the US Army, you will be responsible for responding to emergencies and providing medical care to patients in a variety of settings. This role requires a high level of skill and expertise in emergency medicine, as well as the ability to work independently and make critical decisions in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities:
  • Attend to patients during medical evacuations, ground and helicopter transport.
  • Prioritize treatments for patients with multiple problems and employ established emergency medicine techniques and equipment.
  • Conduct thorough examinations of patients to determine the nature, extent, and seriousness of their condition.
  • Independently make choices regarding the provision of stabilizing medical interventions and modify protocols as necessary.
  • Gather information about patients, causes, and effects of illnesses/injuries to initiate medical treatment.
Requirements:

To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service, which includes work that involves responding to emergencies, making independent assessments, and recognizing medical emergencies.
  • Must possess and maintain a National Registry Paramedic Certification, Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification.
What to Expect:

This is a career program (CP) 5-Medical position with the US Army. You may be eligible for military spouse preference (MSP) and will be required to complete a one-year trial/probationary period. Direct deposit of pay is required, and selection is subject to restrictions resulting from the Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
