We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Ironworker to join our team at FM Steel Construction. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for various ironwork tasks on our sites, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret blueprints and project specifications to plan and execute ironwork tasks.
- Cut, weld, and assemble iron and steel girders, columns, and other building materials to form bridges, buildings, and other structures.
- Ensure all ironwork meets project specifications, building codes, and safety standards.
- Collaborate with the team and other construction professionals to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order and safe to use.
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Ironworker, with a portfolio of completed projects.
- In-depth knowledge of iron and steel erection and construction, with an understanding of metal properties and uses.
- Proficient in welding and other ironwork techniques, with a keen eye for detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and sketches, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong physical condition and endurance, with ability to work at heights, lift heavy objects, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Valid certification or license may be required, along with commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
