Park Ranger I

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Park Ranger I. This role will be responsible for assisting in the operations of Grand Caverns Park and executing interpretive programming. The successful candidate will conduct tours for Grand Caverns Park caves, including Adventure/Spelunking Tours, and assist with park operations at Town Parks. This will include gift shop/front desk, special events, assisting park visitors, and maintenance work. The Park Ranger I will also serve on internal committees and advisory boards as assigned. The work is performed under the direction of the Parks Coordinator and Parks/Tourism Assistant Director.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct tours for Grand Caverns Park caves, including Adventure/Spelunking Tours
• Assist with park operations at Town Parks
• Perform gift shop/front desk duties
• Assist with special events
• Assist park visitors
• Perform maintenance work
• Serve on internal committees and advisory boards as assigned

Qualification Requirements: To be considered for this role, applicants must have a strong understanding of conservation principles and practices. They must also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The successful candidate will be required to work a bi-weekly schedule, which will include Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
