Job Title: Construction Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Engineer to join our team at Jobot. As a Construction Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the technical and financial aspects of various construction and engineering projects.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and construction management, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget. You will be responsible for coordinating with field staff, managing client relationships, and ensuring that construction is being performed to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete technical design and engineering duties for a variety of projects
  • Manage client relationships and serve as liaison between office and field staff
  • Schedule construction services field crews
  • Coordinate with field staff regarding various inspection, operations, and maintenance activity
  • Ensure construction is being performed to quality standards in compliance with design specifications, drawings, budget and schedule
  • Implement and oversee materials testing and pavement evaluation programs
  • Provide oversight and leadership for staff in carrying out construction supervision including contract administration, quality control, construction monitoring and evaluation, and other relevant activities
  • Inspect completion and sign-off on quality of workmanship along with crew leaders and external subcontractors
  • Interpret construction plans, standards and specifications
  • Coordinate work between agencies, contractor and other city departments (interact with contractors and their representatives while representing the contract owner)
  • Assist in reviewing project drawings and specifications to gain a full understanding of project scope, client goals and expectations, and resource requirements for each phase of the project
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • PE license preferred
  • Minimum four (4) years applicable experience
  • High proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software
  • High proficiency with ESRI/Arc GIS
  • High proficiency with BS&A software
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time in both urban and remote areas
