Job OverviewPosition:
Medical Practice Patient Representative (Clerical Assistant) at Nuvance Health
Role Summary:
This position is responsible for delivering clerical and administrative assistance while coordinating patient care activities within a medical practice.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Verify and maintain the accuracy of patient information, including personal details and insurance coverage.
2. Provide a welcoming reception for patients and communicate effectively and courteously.
3. Manage incoming calls, direct inquiries, take messages, and ensure clear communication.
4. Register, confirm, and organize patient appointments, tests, and referrals.
5. Handle rescheduling of appointments that were cancelled or missed.
6. Process requests for medical records, including copying, billing, and documentation.
7. Collect co-payments and ensure accurate financial reconciliation.
8. Facilitate the retrieval of medical records for both new and returning patients.
9. Conduct audits as required.
10. Process and manage medical records and related documents via electronic means.
11. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
12. Adhere to all compliance requirements associated with the role.
13. Perform additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Required: High School Diploma or GED. Proficiency in MS Outlook, data entry, and strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
Experience:
Minimum of six months in a relevant role.
Preferred:
Experience with Practice Management Systems, prior work in a medical office, and familiarity with MS Excel.
Compensation:
Competitive per diem rate.
