Job Summary

The Monitor Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective care of patients by monitoring cardiac rhythms and reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Observe cardiac monitors to recognize arrhythmias and report any changes to the nursing staff
  • Clean and maintain equipment, ensuring batteries are charged and installed properly
  • Perform clerical and receptionist functions, including retrieving data and preparing patient charts
  • Verify current telemetry orders and ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, patients, and families to provide excellent customer service
Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with the American Heart Association
  • Previous experience as a Monitor Technician in an acute care setting
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and function in stressful situations
